Crafts and Snacks: Edible Playdough

Step 1: I know everyone has had plenty of practice lately and you are sick of hearing it but WASH YOUR HANDS. Also, wash the hands of the small humans (unless you trust them but that one is on you).

Now that the basics are out of the way (whew), here's a fun activity that can also serve as a snack (and did I mention that it will get you to get those little guys to wash their hands again and again and again).

What you will need:

  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter (or nut butter of your choosing)

  • 3 tablespoons honey

  • 3/4 cup of nonfat powdered milk or powdered sugar

  • mixing bowl

Directions:

  • Mix all ingredients into a bowl

  • Add more peanut butter if it's too dry or more powdered milk/sugar if it's too sticky.

  • Stash it in the fridge for 10-15 minutes.

  • Wash your hands again before you play (so you can eat it later).

Fun Tips:

  • Use cookie cutters to make fun shapes.

  • Lay out parchment paper or put out paper plates for easy clean up later.

  • Get creative with pretzel sticks, sprinkles, cereal, chocolate chips, raw vegetables, or marshmallows to create fun objects and people!

  • Put into a zip-closing plastic storage bag in the refrigerator until ready to eat (or play with again).

  • Make multiple batches for multiple kids!

  • Use this for a fun homeschooling activity: practice fractions, describing, following directions, story telling, and cleaning up.

This 2 for 1 activity and snack will keep kids entertained (at least until they ask for their next snack). YOU GOT THIS!
