Certified Lactation Counselors: How Can One Help Me?

As both a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist and Certified Lactation Counselor, I can assess, diagnosis, and treat infants and children with a variety of feeding problems.

Pregnant? Currently breastfeeding? Transitioning to bottle feeding? Have questions or need help? Certified Lactation Counselors (CLC) aim to educate and support families with a variety of breastfeeding situations, assess breastfeeding using a multi-faceted approach, and identify and monitor management techniques for common breastfeeding problems.

Certified:CLC’s have completed the necessary course competencies with foundations in milk supply, breast problems, special populations, and counseling.

Lactation:CLC’s can assist families in the journey of breastfeeding, and help families reach their feeding goals.

Counselor:CLC’s possess skills and techniques that support breastfeeding mothers and babies.
